From Kathryn Schoendorf - “Calorimetry is a scientific term describing the measurement of heat lost or gained. Knit hats are a wonderful way to block out the cold, but when you have long hair it usually requires wearing it down, not often the most comfortable option on a blustery day. This headscarf allows you to wear your hair up while keeping your ears warm and preventing heat from escaping from the top of your head.”

A quick and easy project-this lovely little scarf is knit in fisherman's rib and finished with a knitted flower and button. It would be fun to use a luxury yarn and consider making the flower from a different color.

From Gudrun, "This comfy Crofter’s Cowl is worked in a Shetland lace pattern with great stitch definition. Two halves are worked in the round then grafted together providing a mirror image of the Horse shoe lace. Something to take the chill off the neck for those long cold days of crofting!" Use a luxury fiber and have the warmest neck in town.

Another one of Meg's patterns. This is the beanie with a small twist. I added a bit of a lace pattern just above the ribbing and the final look reminded me of cathedral windows.
