Baby sweaters are really popular right now. If you are interested in making a sweater, but leery of making something big this is the way to start. We are knitting Holly's Jacket from The Complete Fabrication blog. Thank you to Jacki Kelly for permission to use her pattern. This can easily be changed to a boy sweater just by using a ribbed edge instead of the ruffle. Date: Tuesdays, February 19, 26, March 4

We will use "A Treasury of Magical Knitting" and learn a new cast on technique. The basic scarf uses about 200 yards of yarn and we can customize the pattern to match any needle size and yarn. “French women are known for wearing scarves. Starting in September and until summer arrives; this is a most important accessory. The scarf may be striped or patterned, colorful, wrinkled and is much bigger than the scarves you probably have. Women just wrap the scarf around their neck in a "Je suis belle et ça ne demande aucun effort*" sort of way and off they go.”

Learn to make seams that virtually disappear into the knitting. In this class you will learn five joining and seaming techniques plus pointers on picking up stitches, tucking in ends and planning stitch patterns for smooth joins. You will need a set of swatches – instructions available when you register. Have a project ready to finish? Bring it to class and start the seams as you learn on the swatches. If you have already taken this class but you have a project you want to finish, just bring it and skip the swatches. Instructor: Norla Kitch Start: 11:00 pm

Join us as we begin a new series of classes focusing on stitch patterns. Our first choice is the Jewel Cross-Rib. This is an entertaining knit and easy to memorize. The pattern is actually reversible even though that wasn't the intent. This means it will work well for blankets and scarves. Currently Meg is using the pattern to make a shrug. You can really see the versatility in this stitch.
