3.5 sts and 4 rows per inch in circular knitting on 10.5 needles

Instructions:

  1. With main color and size 10.5 circular needles cast on 70 (76) sts. Join and knit 6 rows.
  2. Purl one row.
  3. Knit 6 more rows of main color.
  4. Attach color A and knit one row, then purl one row. Do not break yarn.
  5. Attach main color and knit two rows.
  6. With color A knit one row and purl one row.
  7. With main color knit 5 rows.
  8. Attach color A and knit one row, then purl one row. Break yarn.
  9. With main color knit 4 rows.
  10. Attach color A and knit one row, then purl one row.
  11. Attach main color and knit two rows.
  12. With color A knit one row, then purl one row.

Start Decreasing For Crown:

  1. With Main color, knit decreasing 6 (4) sts evenly spaced. 64 (72) sts.
  2. Knit one round with Main color.
  3. With color A knit one round, and purl one round.

Size M/L only (Skip these rounds for size S/M):

For Both Sizes:

  1. K6, k2tog around (56 sts).
  2. Knit 1 round even.
  3. K5, k2tog around (48 sts).
  4. Knit 1 round even.
  5. Change to dpn on next round.
  6. K4, k2tog around (40 sts).
  7. Knit 1 round even.
  8. K3, k2tog around (32 sts).
  9. K2, k2tog around (24 sts).
  10. K1, k2tog around (16 sts).
  11. K2tog around (8 sts).

Leaving a 8" tail, break yarn and draw through remaining 8 sts.
Weave in ends.
